Oman Petrochemical Company is seeking candidates for SENIOR SPECIAL RISK MANAGEMENT with the following JD and Qualification :
ROLE PURPOSE
Advice on management of operational risks, including technology risks and opportunities and insurance at the corporate Risk Management and Insurance Service at ORPIC under Manager of Risk Management & Insurance scope; through the identification of both insurable and non-insurable risk and be able to provide recommendation around risk tolerance and mitigation, strategize and set direction for casualty and liability insurance placements, built relationship, gain trust, find common ground using a team building approach to solve problem and accomplish goals and monitoring of all areas related with upstream operations, downstream operations including refining and petrochemical subsidiaries and, where required, joint ventures; in order to remaining oversight of site/regional/study risk parameters in line with international financial standards, and ORPIC’s policies and procedures.
Sr. Specialist, Risk Management position will act under global finance international standards and local standards by keeping proper records and meet international legal/financial procedures within accepted accounting practices to support financial goals and objectives at OPM. In addition will act in accordance with ORPIC’s values and strategies, policies, guidelines, technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justification’s and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Supports upstream and downstream operational risk analysis across all company functions, projects, M&A subsidiaries and, to extent possible, joint ventures by working with other member of the company risk management team.
• Advises on management of upstream and downstream operational risks, including technology risks and opportunities.
• Where required leads risk workshops, in particular specialist workshops using techniques such as HAZOP, LOPA, CIL etc.
• Monitors performance of the business against their assigned risk appetite and the risk appetite decision making “test”
• Supports the annual risk update by attendance at business workshops and advising the risk champions
• Reviews all incidents investigation report and action plan for adequacy through ORPIC risk Management Team and ensure any lessons learned are shared with all relevant business.
• Review proposed improvement plans, including annual business and change plans, for compliance with ERM requirement and to recommend improvements to the Head of risk.
• Risk analysis conducted across all ORPIC function and project management department requirement policies and standards.
• Represent risk management and insurance on various committees.
KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum qualifications for this position is a Bachelor degree in Engineering
• Minimum year of relevant experience are +5 years of operations experience, ideally in the oil, gas, petrochemical, metals or mining industry or in any similar role.
• Knowledge in risk analysis with preference in Oil and Gas.
Salary Package : USD 5740 - 10656/month lumpsum
